Purchased ECS mobo + E2200 combo that I requested to cancel 13hrs later.

My worse experience in any FS/FT forum ever. Please advise to stay away from this seller. I should have known to deal with this guy when he already have poor previous heat.
He agreed to pickup a combo at Fry\'s for me during one of the deals. He set up a FS/FT thread at [H] later that day, selling the combos he bought. He planned to profit from selling them. Quote:: \"Yea I was trying to make money. The boards are all over the FS area.\" So after he realized he couldn\'t profit, he decided to screw me over.
The series of events occurred as follows:
-He asks $100 for the combo
-I send him $100 for the combo
-I request to cancel the combo
-He claims he would have to drive all the way back to Fry\'s to return it and offers to refund $77 only.
-I exclaim at the loss of money and say no -- I\'d give him an extra $9 to send it to me instead (for his trouble)
-He agrees to send it to me, but never does
-Out of the blue, he sends me back $67.XX, but said he can\'t pay the rest with some excuse and wants to send me a Money Order
-I don\'t want to chance my money on a MO because he is already acting shady and there\'s a chance it might get lost.
-I ask him if he has a friend that can send me the rest of the money, he says yes.
-Hours later, he ends up paying me $22.50 the rest of the money (somehow?)
-Then I find out the rest of the money never comes through and he had removed the payment in Paypal
-I ask what the situation is, and he says again he\'ll send me a Money Order
-It sounded shady even moreso, so I ask him to do delivery confirmation w/ the MO.
-He contemplates and ends up not refunding me at all and calling me a bad person.
-I file paypal dispute.
-He goes around [H] FS/T to post his sob story and to discredit me with lies.
Please avoid this trader.
Response from PrenticeThis kid is total bullshit. Check the thread on [H] if you need to admin. I never said half of that crap or did any of that. He backed out of the deal and once that came in and I could not get ahold of him I cancelled the shipping(you have 24 hours) and then refunded him the cash in my paypal 67.00.. I then tried to come to a settlement for me having to return it. He never gave me a single dime. I lost 35$
Also, check my heat and the forums. I never sold the E2200+ECS combos. I did sale a X2 4800+ Combo + 7600GT that he seems to think was a E2200 combo... you can ask MastaFlyMason what he purchased or see it on the thread at [H]... also it was well before this happened. This guy is just trying to retaliate.January 26, 2008

bought a retail box e2180 more or less
Prentice was the Seller on January 10, 2008 HardForum
Agreed to buy a used full retail package cpu on 11/29. Trader only had 2 heat but they were both positive. Knowing how hard it sometimes is for new traders I gave Prentice the benefit of doubt and sent a money order via priority mail. About a week later I received the CPU via first class mail instead of priority as advertised in the thread. Also, I only received the cpu not the full retail package that was agreed to. Tied for the worst packing job I ever had the displeasure of receiving. The cpu was wrapped in a small piece of bubble wrap and put into a piece of a bubble wrap envelope and taped shut. There was flimsy plastic \"cup-like\" piece that the cpu was supposedly put in but since Prentice didn\'t bother to secure the cpu into it, it became a non-entity. I asked about the fan and was told it would ship the next day. Since then I have asked several times but still have not received the box and heatsink that is owed to me. I eventually had to buy an aftermarket heatsink so I could test the motherboard I bought. That defeated the whole purpose of buying a retail package. If I wanted an OEM chip I could have bought one new for less. At this point I have doubts that Prentice will complete the deal as agreed to. Even so I could never rate this as a positive experience. The reason it\'s not a negative is because the chip works despite the crappy packing. I also have to accept part of the blame for placing too much trust in an unestablished trader.
Response from PrenticeI thought the packing was excellent. The fan issue has been resolved. I said that it was a retail chip not sold retail but whatever.January 11, 2008
